Midwest Thrash-Crossover

Established in 2016 - Forthright was originally meant to be a musically heavier twist on the mainstream, hard rock groups of the time. Since then, they’ve shared the stage with many bands including 200 Stab Wounds, Ringworm, Aegaeon, No Cure, Dead Heat, and The Wise Man’s Fear. Founded by Nick Bulger and Eddie Goebel II, the band had seen many lineup changes through the years before settling on the current outfit.

While Forthright’s sound has fluctuated over the course of nearly a decade, the style has always been rooted in classic thrash metal acts of the 80’s and 90’s. After a slight break, 2023 appeared to be a creative resurgence for the group. Released as a single in July, “The Cave” was a slight departure from their previous albums Antiorthodox, and Kaleidoscopic Manslaughter.

This would signal a new path for the unit, and culminate in the 2024 single “War of Attrition” - a more streamlined and visceral sound influenced by the 812 hardcore scene that surrounded them. They released their new EP of the same name on August 30th , 2024.
